Dr Jon Marshall graduated from RMIT university with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Complementary Medicine-Osteopathy) followed by a Master’s degree in Osteopathy.

An interest in Chinese Medicine saw Jon enrol in a Master of Applied Science (Acupuncture) which he completed in November 2011. Jon incorporates the principles of both Traditional Chinese Medicine and Osteopathy to tailor effective treatments for his patients using a wide range of Osteopathic techniques as well as Acupuncture,Diet Therapy, Cupping and Traditional Chinese Manipulative Technique (Tuina)He is among only a handful of Osteopaths that are also trained acupuncturists.

A Martial artist from the age of 10, Jon holds a 5th dan black-belt in Aikido and makes regular trips to Japan to continue his study of this fascinating art. A well renowned Aikido instructor in Melbourne, he also travels both interstate and overseas instructing Aikido. To date he has taught throughout South-east Asia, Japan (where he lived for 7 years), the UK, the US and Poland.

In March 2010, he established the Aikido Shudokan City dojo, located in the heart of the CBD, in the Rialto building and runs classes on Monday and Wednesday nights. The city dojo is fast becoming a reknown place to study Yoshinkan Aikido for the beginner and advanced student alike.

He was recently appointed the Osteopath for the Australian Olympic Taekwondo team and travelled to Azerberjian for the Olympic qualification tournament in July 2011 and New Caledonia in September 2011.

Dr Angela Baklis graduated from RMIT with a Masters of Osteopathy and to further her interest in dancing and sports related injuries, she undertook a Rehabiltation Pilates Course. Angela now practices both Osteopathy and Rehabilitative Pilates at both our Clifton Hill and City Clinics. Angela has recently started a Pilates course at our city clinic on Friday afternoons for both beginners and intermediate practitioners of Pilates.

Having completed a course in Global Posturology, she can professionally fit insoles to correct poor foot mechanics which results in improved posture, and excellent results with fallen arches, sciatic pain and heel pain. She has had great results with children improving their posture believing “ a child with poor posture is an adult with chronic back pain” Her experience working alongside chiropractic children’s specialists have given her valuable insight in to pediatric conditions and treatment.
In her spare time Angela teaches dancing at various studios in Melbourne, having been a keen dancer since early age and plans to develop and run workshops for dancers on injury prevention.

Dr Drew Blachford (Osteopath)

Dr. Drew Blatchford is a fully qualified and registered Osteopath and member of the Australian Osteopathic Association.
Drew has a particular interest in treating sports injuries. However he treats a wide range of conditions including foot and ankle pain, low back pain, neck, shoulder pain and headaches.
Drew uses a wide range of techniques including massage, joint mobilization, stretching, muscle energy technique and counterstrain. Drew has furthered his treatment options by studying dry needling and Kinesio taping.

Drew’s background is in sports science having completed a bachelor’s degree in Manchester, England. During this period he attended the National cricket academy as part of the Sports Science support to England’s opening batswomen. Drew has also interspersed his work in Osteopathy with research in the field of cycling focused on the set up position of cyclists and it’s affect on cycling economy, muscle recruitment, muscle force and contraction velocity as well as changes to joint range of movement.

Drew completed his Osteopathic studies in Melbourne during which time he continued his interest in Sports rehabilitation by attending Sports medicine Australia conferences and seminars. Drew treats all types of conditions from foot pain to neck pain and headaches. Drew has a particular interest in sports injuries and this led him to gain his Kinesio Tape certification. Drew has also trained in dry needling

Drew is an accomplished mountain biker having raced in Greece, North America, New Zealand and the UK. Currently he enjoys competing in endurance events in Australia. He also enjoys snowboarding and playing golf.

Dr Lisa Ooi has graduated from the 5 year, full-time double degree of Human Biology and Chinese Medicine at RMIT University and has completed her clinical internship in China, at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese medicine in Nanjing. She is also a qualified and registered remedial massage therapist.

Lisa has developed an interest in musculoskeletal, autoimmune and arthritic disorders during her time aboard training and working with a local football teams. She is enthusiastic and very passionate about her work, and she draws her skills from ongoing continued education and seminars within the industry.

In Lisa’s spare time she practices kendo, a form of Japanese fencing and loves to travel and experiencing new adventures.

Dr Jenny Kwon graduated from RMIT with a double degree in Chinese Medicine and Human Biology and completed a clinical internship in China, at the Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of TCM in Nanjing during the final years of  her degree.

Her areas of special interest are in Gynecology, Gastroenterology, Pain management and Psycho-Emotional issues. One of her favourite mottos is” Treat the root and the plant will thrive”.
Jenny has been a member of her church choir for 8 years and believe singing is the best medicine!
